World Oral Health Day
In line with Salaam Takaful's commitment to ESG principles, we actively promote awareness campaigns aimed at improving public health. As part of this initiative, Salaam Takaful supports World Oral Health Day, observed annually on March 20th, which serves as a poignant reminder of the significance of maintaining good oral hygiene practices. Recognizing that oral health is integral to overall well-being, this day emphasizes the importance of preventive measures to mitigate the risk of systemic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and respiratory infections. Through Salaam Takaful, we advocate for regular dental check-ups as a vital component of early detection and intervention, preventing minor oral issues from escalating into more significant problems. Contrary to common misconceptions, sugar is not the sole culprit in dental problems. Factors such as acidic foods, poor oral hygiene, and tobacco use also contribute significantly. Comprehensive oral care practices are encouraged, including brushing twice daily for two minutes, daily flossing, and rinsing with mouthwash as part of a holistic approach to oral hygiene. Moreover, the importance of a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and calcium to promote oral health is crucial, along with the cessation of smoking and tobacco use, as quitting significantly reduces the risk of gum disease, tooth decay, and oral cancer. By raising awareness and dispelling common myths surrounding oral health, Salaam Takaful empowers individuals to prioritize their oral hygiene for a brighter, healthier future. Through Salaam Health Takaful and our ongoing commitment to ESG principles, we strive to foster a culture of proactive health management and well-being within our communities.
